Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing on-premise and hybrid environments, with specific expertise in Active Directory, Windows Server, and virtualization technologies. This role requires hands-on experience in a variety of system management tasks and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Active Directory Management:
    • Oversee and manage forests, domain trusts, FSMO roles, users, group policies, and Entra ID/Azure AD connect.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot hybrid cloud environments.
  • Windows Server Administration:
    • Manage Windows Server 2012r2 to 2025, including DNS, DHCP, Radius, print queues/driver management, SQL, internal PKI/certificate management, and patching.
  • Virtualization Technologies:
    • Lead the management of virtualization technologies, specializing in VMware products such as ESXi, VCenter, VMSA, and VMotion.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration:
    • Manage, troubleshoot, and administer M365 SharePoint sites and groups.
  • SAN Management:
    • Administer and troubleshoot SAN platforms.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Write, review, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Email and Security Technologies:
    • Manage SMTP relays, Exchange Online, and cloud-based email security services like FireEye and Mimecast.
    • Utilize security technologies such as Crowdstrike and ArcticWolf.
  • Network and Voice Products:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco products, including switches, Wi-Fi, and routing.
    • Experience with Cisco voice products is a plus.
  • Cloud and Linux Management:
    • Manage Linux servers and cloud-based backup solutions, including disaster recovery management and testing.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Experience with Dynamics 365 CRM and Finance Operations is an asset.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in on-premise Active Directory management.
  • 3+ years of experience and/or certifications in Windows Server administration.
  • 5+ years of experience managing virtualization technologies with a focus on VMware.
  • Experience in SAN management, technical documentation, and security technologies.
  • Good understanding of Cisco products and cloud-based backup solutions.
  • Ability to go on-site as needed in the DC Metro area, including College Park, MD, Landover, MD, and Ashburn, VA.
