Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled UKG Scheduling & Configuration Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Workforce Management (WFM) system. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in UKG (Dimensions / Pro WFM) modules—particularly scheduling, time & attendance, accruals, leave, and integration—and will act as a bridge between business needs and technical configuration to deliver scalable and efficient solutions that enhance workforce productivity and system stability.


Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design, configuration, implementation, and optimization of UKG Scheduling modules, including forecasting, shift patterns, demand-planning, staff allocation, and service-level agreement alignment.
  • Design and maintain all relevant UKG configuration: scheduling rules, work rules, shift rules, pay rules, exception rules, interactions between modules (e.g. attendance, leave, accruals).
  • Partner with business stakeholders, HR/Operations, workforce planners to understand demand, capacity, scheduling constraints and translate into system requirements.
  • Lead workshops with stakeholders to elicit requirements, perform gap analysis, and define best-fit UKG solutions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed functional & technical design documentation (design specs, configuration documents, test plans, change control, deployment plans).
  • Configure and maintain integrations between UKG and other systems (payroll, HRIS, analytics tools, etc.).
  • Oversee testing (unit, integration, UAT) and provide support during rollout (go-live, hypercare).
  • Monitor system performance and scheduled operations; proactively identify issues, optimize performance, and ensure scheduling accuracy.
  • Provide governance / standards across configuration to ensure consistency, maintainability, compliance (audit, legal, union or regulatory rules if applicable).
  • Mentor and support other team members; conduct knowledge transfer and training for super-users or business leads.
  • Stay current on UKG release updates, best practices, and new capabilities; evaluate enhancements and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience (e.g. 5–8+ years) working with UKG Dimensions or UKG Pro WFM—or equivalent workforce management systems—with a strong focus on scheduling and configuration.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex schedule models: shift rotations, forecasting, demand-based scheduling, capacity planning.
  • Deep understanding of UKG modules: scheduling, time & attendance, leave/absence management, accruals, possibly activities, attestation.
  • Solid experience in configuration of scheduling and pay/work/exception rules, interactions between modules, impacts on data and compliance.
  • Strong business analysis skills: gathering requirements, doing gap analysis, translating business needs into configuration.
  • Experience with integrations and data flows between UKG and HRIS / payroll / other systems.
  • Excellent documentation skills and experience developing design specs, test cases, user acceptance tests, deployment plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to communicate technical choices to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing configurations.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • UKG Certification(s) in relevant modules.
  • Prior experience in a unionized / regulated environment.
  • Experience with advanced forecasting tools or demand planning.
  • Experience handling global roll-outs or multi-geography UKG deployments.
  • Knowledge of reporting & analytics in UKG; ability to design or guide reporting and dashboards.
  • Background in operations / workforce planning as well as technical solutioning.
