Job Description

Title: Surgical Coordinator
Location: Stonybrook, NY
Schedule; Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30om
Compensation: $22.17 - $27.70

What You’ll do:

Responsible for obtaining authorizations for surgeries along with scheduling H&P and preadmission testing. 
Coordinates the main operating room bookings and schedules specialized operating room equipment.
Obtains precertification and authorization for surgical procedures and medical clearance, reviews and validates patient insurance. 
Schedules patient’s history, physical and preadmission testing. 
Maintains paper files on scheduled surgeries.
Answers phones, assist with light secretarial duties. 
Liaison between operating room, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Attending’s, Residents, and NP/PA and reps.
Cross coverage for the ambulatory surgery.

Professional phone etiquette. 

Requirements: 
High School Diploma/GED. Two (2) years of full-time medical office experience.

I’m a good example of using the pandemic to pursue a dream and recently relocated to my favorite vacation spot, Myrtle Beach, SC as my new home.
