Job Description
Position: Part-Time Paralegal (Real Estate & Trusts)
Location: Melville, NY (In-Office)
Schedule: Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $30–$35/hour (based on experience)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Paralegal with 3–5 years of experience in real estate and trusts to join our team in Melville. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, collaborative environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist attorneys with real estate transactions, including preparation and review of closing documents, title reports, and related correspondence
Support trust and estate matters, including drafting basic trust documents, organizing client files, and preparing documentation for execution
Manage and maintain case files using case management software
Conduct legal research and gather relevant documentation as needed
Coordinate with clients, lenders, and third parties to facilitate smooth transactions
Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable regulations
Maintain calendars, deadlines, and follow-ups for active matters
3–5 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on real estate and/or trusts & estates being a bonus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with case management software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Proactive, dependable, and able to work independently
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
Team-oriented with a client-service mindse
