Mail Clerk
Job Description
- Operate and maintain automated mail processing equipment, including sorting, coding, and addressing machines. Perform routine checks and minor troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and oversee the routing of mail across national destinations. Utilize routing software to ensure timely and accurate delivery of mail based on its destination.
- Use Quadient software to track, manage, and process mail efficiently. Update and maintain mail data, troubleshoot software issues, and ensure all mail processing operations comply with system requirements
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that mail is processed correctly. Address any discrepancies or errors promptly and report issues to the Mail Processing Supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of mail processing activities, including tracking data, processing logs, and equipment maintenance reports.
- Provide excellent internal customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to mail processing and routing.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant postal regulations and company policies. Stay updated on changes in mail processing standards and procedures.
- Work closely with team members and other departments to coordinate mail processing activities and address any operational challenges.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in mail processing is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mail processing role, preferably with experience in operating automated mail systems and using Quadient software.
- Proficiency with automated mail machines and Quadient software. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of mail processing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with team members and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and move mail and packages as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Experience with additional mail processing software or systems.
- Knowledge of postal regulations and compliance requirements.
