Job Title: Legal Assistant – Bankruptcy Practice
Location: Melville, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $50,000-55,000 (based on experience - growth offered)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Bankruptcy practice.
This position requires prior legal experience and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a professional, fast-paced Law Firm environment while supporting both Attorneys and the Office Manager with critical administrative and case-related responsibilities.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare, format, proofread, and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related court documents
Assist with electronic filing (e-filing) and maintain organized case files (physical and digital)
Manage attorney calendars, court dates, deadlines, and client communications
Communicate professionally with clients, trustees, and court personnel
Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court requirements
Assist with day-to-day office operations and workflow coordination
Maintain accurate filing and records management systems
What We're Looking For:
1–3+ years of experience in a legal assistant role required; bankruptcy experience strongly preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace; experience with legal case management software is a plus
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Able to handle confidential financial and legal information with integrity and professionalism
Clear written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused mindset
