Legal Secretary
Job Description
- Prepare all client engagement letters.
- Open and maintain client files.
- Prepare Land Use and Zoning litigation documents and required notices/postings; e-file court filings.
- Update client status memos.
- Assist with business development research and outreach.
- Prepare and format documents and proofread documents for accuracy.
- Provide additional administrative support, including but not limited to, maintaining practice group’s calendar, attending weekly practice group status update meetings, answering telephones, making copies, scheduling meetings, and entering data into the billing system.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Able to meet deadlines, multi-task and available to work occasional overtime.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills with the ability to effectively interact via telephone, e-mail and in-person with clients, attorneys, etc.
- Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- 5+ years legal secretarial experience (preferably General Real Estate and/or Litigation Experience).
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
