Job Description

Jr Architect/Job Captain
A growing and fast-paced architecture and design-build firm, specializing in healthcare and medical facilities, seeks an energetic and professional junior architect/job captain to become part of the team.
Position Duties:
Prepare and assist in the schematic design, design development, and construction documents for medium to large scale buildings and interiors.
Assists in the preparation for plans for existing buildings where plans are not available.
Assists in conducting preliminary studies of proposed projects to obtain information as to space and design requirements, obtaining measurements and making sketches preliminary to the preparation of drawing.
Travel to project sites and/or client meetings, as required.
Assists in the review of shop drawings, specifications, cost estimates and construction material recommendations submitted by contractors to ensure adherence to contract and notifies Project Manager of discrepancies.
Provides support to Architectural Project Managers and other staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of architecture and architectural principles and techniques.
Knowledge of types of building materials and construction methods.
Strong knowledge/experience of AutoCAD. SketchUp, Bluebeam, Procore experience a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills & detail-orientation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field AND five (5) year of architectural experience including use of AutoCAD.
5+ years of related architectural experience in a professional design architecture environment.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
