Title: Workflow & Process Architect – Corporate Intranet
Engagement: Contract-to-hire

Role Overview

Design and orchestrate the end-to-end workflows and business processes that will run through Mount Sinai’s corporate intranet, built on Acumina. This intranet will be a single digital front door for tens of thousands of employees to complete transactions across Oracle ERP, ServiceNow, policy systems, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process and workflow design for key employee journeys, such as:
  • Viewing pay statements and W-2s.
  • Checking PTO/vacation balances.
  • Submitting requests via ServiceNow.
  • Accessing policies and procedures.
• Model and optimize cross-system workflows that span Acumina, Oracle, ServiceNow, policy tech, and other platforms.
• Define workflow orchestration patterns using:
  • Messaging layers, service bus, or similar integration patterns.
• Work closely with:
  • IAM Architect to ensure workflows respect identity, roles, and entitlements.
  • Application Owner and engineering to ensure designs are implementable and scalable.
• Document and socialize process maps, use cases, and requirements with both business and technical teams.
• Design with a view towards future agentic AI capabilities:
  • Ensure workflows are structured so that agents can reliably orchestrate tasks across systems.
• Introduce best practices from other industries (finance, insurance, etc.) into the healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in business process design, workflow architecture, or enterprise solution architecture.
• Proven experience implementing enterprise intranets, employee portals, or similar “digital front door” platforms.
• Strong background in workflow tools, orchestration, and integration patterns (e.g., service bus, event-driven architectures).
• Ability to work in complex, multi-system environments and simplify them into clear user journeys.
• Experience with Oracle ERP, ServiceNow, or comparable platforms in an integrated environment.
• Experience in healthcare a plus, but quality of engineering and architecture experience is more important.
• Strong facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.
