Job Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST (Weekends Required)
Assignment Length: 13-Week Initial Assignment (Extensions in 8-Week Increments)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. The ideal candidate will assist interventional radiologists with performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires expertise in operating angiographic equipment and assisting with procedures such as balloon angioplasty and stenting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures by operating specialized imaging equipment.
Prepare and administer contrast agents as directed.
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and radiation safety standards.
Properly set up and maintain interventional suites, supplies, and equipment.
Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
May perform limited duties in Computed Tomography if qualified.
Job Requirements
Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience operating angiographic equipment with hands-on experience in balloon angioplasty and stenting procedures.
Licensure & Certifications:
Valid Radiologic Technologist license issued by NYSDOH
(Out-of-state licenses may be accepted with the condition that NY licensure is obtained after offer)
BLS certification issued by AHA (American Heart Association)
Advanced-Level Certification from ARRT (must have at least one of the following):
ARRT (CI) – Cardiac Interventional Radiology
ARRT (CV) – Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology
ARRT (VI) – Vascular Interventional Radiology
Vaccination Requirements:
Varicella
Tdap
MMR
Hepatitis B
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or familiarity with Computed Tomography (CT) imaging.
Additional Information:
Candidates must be flexible and able to work weekend shifts as required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to high-quality patient care.
