Job Description

Medical secretaries are professionals in high demand.  The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects an almost 10% growth rate throughout the next decade because of the aging baby boomer population and the expansion and discoveries in healthcare and medicine.  
This is for a busy medical office with a friendly, collaborative team.  It’s a highly administrative role handling numerous tasks in the front of the office, including many patient-facing responsibilities. They have asked us to find an individual who excels at patient (customer) relations and possesses a genuine desire to help patients to receive quality care. It’s a full-time position with some scheduling flexibility between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm.
Why you’ll do each day…
  • Greet patients as they arrive
  • Answer the phones and direct patient, insurance, and vendor calls
  • Provide patients with forms and guide them through proper documentation
  • Scan documents and navigate the EMR system (electronic medical records)
  • Verify patient insurance information
  • Schedule, confirm and reschedule appointments
  • Troubleshoot, maintain calm in the chaos
  • Contribute to the good nature and positive company culture

Job Requirements

Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 1+ years’ experience in a medical office setting
  • Familiarity with insurance company procedures and policies preferred
  • Excellent phone manner and customer service
  • Ability to work a degree of flexible hours
  • Knowledge of Medical TerminologyPublish
