Bookkeeper
Job Description
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciling bank accounts for all locations and posting journal entries and invoices.
- Ensure accurate recording of all accounting activities in QuickBooks, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or imbalances.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports for sales, profit and loss, variances, and other ad hoc reports.
- Manage overall cash management for the company.
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable personnel.
- Oversee postings for real estate entities and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with payables and receivables postings during peak seasons.
- Contribute to payroll activities when required.
- Prepare 1099s and maintain up-to-date biennial reports.
- Track and record activity for property improvement projects throughout the year.
- Ensure accurate recording of county/state jurisdictions for sales tax compliance.
- Monitor and enhance internal controls for both the accounting department and other relevant departments.
- Create ad hoc reports as needed.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of comparable Accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software, with strong QuickBooks skills being a plus.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulatory guidelines.
- Familiarity with Sales Taxes is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is a plus.
