Accounts Payable Manager

A multinational provider, importer, and distributor of chemicals, minerals, and raw materials. We sell a comprehensive range of chemical goods with a variety of applications and uses, serving a wide range of industries. Our staff possesses the knowledge and experience required to provide superior and dependable chemical supply solutions to its customers and partners.
The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager (Assistant Controller A/P will help the company succeed by driving compliant, accurate, timely, and consistent systems for cash budgeting and supplier disbursements. Managing the AP workflow, supervising AP staff, and continuously improving process, functions, and capabilities to optimize cash flow and supplier services are duties.
The ideal applicant will have AP managing experience for a big organization importing commodities from a varied and multinational supplier base.
Job Responsibilities:
• Settle invoices on time and professionally respond to vendor payment enquiries.
• Reconcile, settle, and resolve supplier disputes proactively detect significant trends and deviations affecting cash flow, clean books, and vendor service.
• Establish staff duties, payment parameters, and measurable targets to improve cash position, efficiency metrics, and financial ratios by reviewing payment planning and forecasts.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and vendor service.
• Audit AP staff work for efficiency and accuracy.
• Direct supervision of 6 staff members, including interviewing, hiring, firing, performance management, coaching, and mentoring
• Alert executive management to supplier payment discrepancies, trends, and cash flow issues
• Run, review, and analyze department reporting systems and provide assessment and feedback of current Key Performance Indicators (KPI) outcomes for the department to staff, direct managers, and senior leadership.
• Ensure proper invoice coding and GAAP accounting are followed in compliance with guidelines.
• Develop payables SOPs and training manuals.
• Oversee month-end payables close for all ledgers.

Job Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline minimum of 5 years supervisory/management experience
• 10+ years in accounts payable
• Strong management, communication, decision-making, and analytical capabilities
• Ability to Coach, encourage, and grow a productive staff.
• Foreign currency experience helps.
• Tech-savvy with considerable ERP system knowledge (SAP or Oracle preferred).
• Ability to run reports, analyze data, and offer data-driven solutions.
• Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal abilities,
• Time management skills, including multitasking and prioritizing projects against competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm for changing priorities
• Flexible and approachable to coworkers, leadership, and inter-departmental stakeholders
• USGAAP compliance
• Customer service-oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel user.
