Overview
A healthcare services company in Melville, NY is seeking an experienced Medical Collector to join their team immediately. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering stability and long-term potential for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and collect accounts receivable related to medical insurance claims.
Follow up on outstanding and unpaid claims with commercial insurers.
Track, document, and process all claims activity accurately and efficiently.
Communicate with insurance companies via phone and email to resolve billing and payment issues.
Prepare and send appeal letters for denied or underpaid claims using an established appeal letter library.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of collection efforts, appeals, and insurer responses.
Qualifications
Prior experience in medical collections, billing, or accounts receivable required.
Strong knowledge of insurance claims follow-up and denial resolution.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize workload effectively.
